Social Sport and Residence Life Booking Guide

Social Sport and Residence Life bookings can be made through online.sport-sheffield.com

Here are a few key features to make things easier to understand with the new system.

Social Sport
Sessions will appear online 6 Days before the session takes place.

Residence Life
Sessions will appear online 4 Days before the session takes place.

For instance, Sunday Badminton 12-2pm will appear online the preceding Monday for Social Sport, and then Wednesday for Residence Life.

Please ensure that when selecting an activity, you navigate to the correct date of the session as displayed at the top of the timetable.

Sessions with availability to book will appear as yellow, allowing you to confirm your booking. Once an activity is fully booked, the session will appear grey and cannot be clicked upon.

All spaces are on a first come, first served basis. If you decide to book at the main reception and a session is full, you will unfortunately be turned away.

Please therefore use the website to pre-book and guarantee your attendance. If you are unsuccessful in booking a session for any reason, please keep trying throughout the year!

Goodwin Sports Centre

If you're new to Goodwin Sports Centre or you've been a hundred times before, there's still information you may need to know about Goodwin Sports Centre.

All enquiries should be directed to the Main Reception, located in the Swimming Pool/ Gym facility at Goodwin.

The Membership Enquiries Desk, located in the sports hall facility, is used purely for memberships information and is only staffed at certain times of the day.

The Goodwin Sports Centre floor plans here should help you find your way around.

Bring Your U-Card

In February 2016, Sport Sheffield will be undertaking an audit of sporting provision and usage at Goodwin Sports Centre across all activities and sessions.  We will be asking that all students (over this two week period) bring their U-Cards for every sporting activity, session or class participated in. So whether you’re just going for a casual swim once a week, or playing 10 different sports every day, we want to find out.

Many sessions throughout the year will involve the scanning of student U-Cards as a register of attendance, so please get into the habit and bring your U-card with you to all sessions as good practice.

What is Social Sport?

Sport England and The National Lottery have provided funding to The University of Sheffield for the provision of recreational sporting opportunities throughout the academic year. Low cost, equipment provided, minimum commitment and a relaxed atmosphere, you’re sure to find a new activity you will love!
